Where is Your Energy?
You are beautiful. You are powerful. You are free. You are a Luminous Soul.
Once when I was working with a private student in NYC I noticed that she was talking non-stop and her eyes were darting here and there. Her energy was wild. What I mean by wild is that she engaged her energy in an unaware way. In an effort to help her begin to gain awareness of her relationship with her energy, so that she could gain greater stability within, I posed the question, “Margaret, do you know where your energy is?” She looked at me, then around the room, above and behind her and finally turned to me saying, “Uh well … No I don’t.” I smiled at the honest and sincere way in which she engaged the question. “I believe you,” I told her. Margaret really didn’t know where her energy was. The thing Margaret didn’t know is that her energy is her.
Maybe as you read this you are thinking, “Well, I don’t know where my energy is either.” Through the Luminous Soul Method, I show students that it is their job to know where their prana, their energy, is.
To develop a close relationship with energy is important
because energy is your soul, energy is you.
Knowing About vs. Living In
We live within the idea that the body and mind are who we are. This is not unusual. But from a yogic perspective it is not the whole truth. When we are young, we are told that our essence is called soul, but we are given no practical way to access it. In The Luminous Soul Method, I guide you in how to access your soul, while still having a full manifest life. To begin the process start by placing your attention on the concept of your energy. Consider that although you have a body and mind, you are not only the body and mind. You are something more. Intellectually, you can get with that idea, “Not body and mind … right.” But to actually live in awareness of your energy, and in you as energy, is something quite different.
Through the Nine Pillars of The Luminous Soul Method, I teach you how to actively explore all aspects of your self. Through the course, you develop the capacity to see beyond the confines of your body and mind and feel what you are.
The great yogis have reminded us for centuries that the highest aspect of You is beyond form and thought. But there is a difference between knowing you are more than the body and mind and actually living from that understanding. The first step towards living from that understanding is to begin to study your energy.
Studying Energy: The First Steps
Each day for 30 days, wake up and say the Luminous Soul Daily Statement (LSDS)
“I am energy moving through form.
I am more than just this body that I inhabit. I am more than the mind with its endless movement of thoughts. I am beyond the body and mind
although I have a body and mind.
I am something more.”
After saying the Luminous Soul Daily Statement, go about your day. Start noticing the ways in which the Luminous Soul Daily Statement settles in you. At times, it may feel light and easy and supportive for you, while at other times you may feel resistance points. Become aware of the ways in which you either connect with or resist the statement. Pay attention to subtle questions that may arise in you.
Here’s an example of what could arise as you work with the LSDS. Let’s say you are going about your day and as you recall the LSDS you say to your self, “Well that’s a relief… I am more than this body and mind.“ But at another moment during your day, as you consider the statement, you find your self rebelling internally, saying “If I’m not this body and mind then how am I supposed to live in this world? How will I relate with my friends or family?” What you want to do is note the subtle questions that arise in you and either hold them in your mind or jot them down to begin working with them. What I am saying is that it’s key for you to say the LSDS statement and then notice what rises in you for or against the teaching. Once you have this info, begin the task of consciously resolving whatever confusion you may have. The Luminous Soul Method process will build a solid foundation from which to feel your self as energy, to connect with your true floor and to begin to relate with your soul in a direct manner.
