Mantra and the Mind
Sanskrit mantras quiet the mind.
Chanting mantras requires the energization of
prana. When we focus our attention on mantras
rather than on our struggles and anxieties
something begins to happen. The difficulties and
struggles that churn our mind and
heart begin to losen their grip on us. By
the grace of mantrik vibration our mind returns
to its natural state of tranquil
awareness.
In Sanskrit, sound and meaning
are one. Therefore, when one chants the name of
the divine one invokes the manifestation of that
luminous core in one's own heart.

The Gayatri Mantra is known as the most sacred
of all mantras and is considered second only to
the sacred sound
'OM'.
Illuminations Before
one utters the Sacred Gayatri three vyahrtis
must be invoked: Bhuh (earth), Bhuvah
(atmosphere) and Svah (heaven). At first
these shouts to the three realms may seem
